InterviewClip meters two things independently, and they never pool together.
- Video recordings: one completed, uploaded answer uses one video credit. Retakes, failed or abandoned attempts, resends, and reminders are always free.
- AI summaries: one AI credit covers summarizing a candidate's whole interview for a job, however many answers that is, including retakes and answers completed later. Once a candidate's summary credit is spent, refreshing or extending their summaries is free.
- CV parsing: uploading and the quick automatic read are free; the optional AI fill uses one AI credit per successfully parsed CV.
A failed AI call never costs a credit. New organizations also start with a small one-time bundle of AI credits in their first month, so you can try the AI features right away.
Both monthly allowances reset at the start of each month and neither carries forward. If a busy month needs more, you can buy a top-up pack on the Billing page: a one-time purchase of extra video or AI credits that stays valid for 90 days from purchase. Pack credits are a separate, third bucket. Your monthly allowance and any granted credits are always used first, and packs only cover what overflows, so a pack is never wasted while monthly credits remain. Your usage meter shows unexpired pack credits beside each monthly bar. A short-term top-up can also be granted for a single month when hiring spikes. For your current numbers and to change plan, see the Billing page. When you choose a higher plan, you complete a secure card checkout, or, if you already pay by card, upgrade directly from the plan cards: you see the prorated amount due today before confirming, and the new plan applies right away. Where card billing is not set up, your upgrade request goes to our team, who confirm it and activate your plan. Downgrades on a team-managed plan take effect at the start of the next month. On a card subscription, switch to a smaller plan by cancelling your current subscription and subscribing to the new plan after it ends. When you pay by card, the Billing page shows your next renewal date. If you schedule a cancellation, the page shows the date your plan ends instead: you keep full access until then, and you can change your mind any time before that date with the Keep my subscription button. Your data stays safe in the meantime: existing jobs and your team keep working, new plan limits apply to new activity, and videos older than the new retention window enter the grace period described in How long are interview videos kept.
Recorded videos themselves are kept for your plan's retention window, which is separate from credits: see How long are interview videos kept.
